Leadership and Teaching

Leadership remains one of the most sought-after skills in the world of work and we barely even talk about it in class. Leaders change our lives, for better or worse. But what’s your role? Teachers are leaders and students need to be leaders, but are we any good at it? This session will offer principles and practice, activities and habits that help to develop the kind of skills that the AI age needs of us all. We’ll look at ways to develop leadership in students, in teachers, and, most importantly, in ourselves.

After over 2 decades of teaching English, Iain now runs the academic programs of a new international charity for young adults that gives them the skills they’re not getting at school. On a beautiful campus near Blanik, he works hosting students from all over the world as they seek to develop their lives, learn leadership skills, finance, self-reliance, entrepreneurship and, of course, English.  (He’s had a lot of catching up to do in every area except the ‘English’ part of that list).  When not surrounded by students, he lives near Brno with his wife and 4 children.
